The Jefferson Center, in conjunction with Healthy Democracy, recently convened the first ever Citizens’ Initiative Review to evaluate an Oregon county ballot measure.
The Citizens’ Initiative Review was a process developed in Oregon using an adapted version of the Jefferson Center’s Citizen Jury to provide fact-based information on ballot measures to voters at election time.
Jackson County voters will be able to use the results of this local review to learn the most relevant facts about the county-wide ballot measure. This thorough review will give voters fair and unbiased facts along with the most relevant arguments for and against the initiative.
The Jefferson Center is excited to be able to support this project, helping Jackson County voters cut through contradictory claims and divisive campaign messaging to promote a representative community voice on the issue.
